There isn't a single, simple formula for finding a fair value range for your business. Rather than offering a generic valuation calculator, we model a valuation that's based on your specific business, not just your industry, revenue, or cash flow. This valuation is offered through our exit planning service.
We believe the sale transaction is only one part of the process, and it's neither at the start nor at the end of your exit experience.
Our goal is to help you prep for the sale well in advance so you can make moves that will maximize your sale price, attract multiple high-caliber buyers, and transition out of your business with confidence.
We also aim to prepare you for what's next. Our wealth advisory service can connect you with experts to take on tax optimization, financial and estate planning, and save/invest strategies.
Our team will help you evaluate your business from a financial, legal, and operational perspective and explore ways in which you can add value to your business before selling. This work may include bookkeeping cleanup, adding processes and procedures, making strategic hires, restructuring your business, making a strategic acquisition, implementing site improvements, and exploring other value-add opportunities.
It will also include work to help you, as an individual prep for your exit. Our one-on-one consultation will help us pinpoint specific areas of focus.
We take a multi-pronged approach to confidentiality. In every instance, we list businesses with a generalized title, location, and description. At this stage, we aim to give buyers a loose idea of what's being offered without permitting them to identify your specific business.
Next, we require every prospective buyer to complete our non-disclosure agreement (unamended), as well as a buyer registration that ensures they're a fit as a prospective candidate before gaining access to any specifics about your business.
Then, we prepare your business's marketing materials in two formats. We offer a "blind" confidential information memorandum (CIM) that includes a detailed writeup and an overview of your financials without disclosing the business name or identifying characteristics (subject to your review and approval). Later, a very small, pre-cleared group of buyers who demonstrate interest and fit can access our full CIM, which provides the name, location, and details of your business.
If keeping your business off of listing sites is important, we offer another path: We can connect you with our internal roster of pre-verified buyers. You can decide which buyers to connect with based on our docier.
Summit Succession represents businesses with an EBITDA of $500,000 to $10,000,000. However, we also have a wide range of industry contacts and would be happy to make introductions to other brokers or M&A advisors if your deal falls outside that range.
